You may leave your car along the road leading to the Local Heritage Museum. The museum is open to the public, so the museum parking area will remain available for visitors.

The museum welcomes spectators to explore the site: the Rovaniemi Local Heritage Museum presents life in a rural farmhouse from the late 19th century. The Pöykkölä farmhouse and its surrounding buildings form the core of the museum area. The museum's four original buildings and thirteen relocated buildings depict rural life during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The museum's main building is one of the few typical Kemijoki riverside farmhouses that survived the war.
